Elma Kathleen (Hatcher-Sniffin) Wood
Aug. 27, 1930 < Jan. 22, 2009

Elma Kathleen (Hatcher-Sniffin) Wood, 78, died on Thursday, Jan. 22 in Antioch, Calif.

Elma was born on Aug. 27, 1930, in Dos Palos, Calif., to Waller P. Hatcher and Edna Grace Hatcher. She was a resident of Fairfield (Green Valley) for a short period of time and previously resided in Coarsegold, Yosemite Lakes Park for approximately 13 years.

Elma loved to play golf and bridge, garden and read. She was an accomplished musician. Her favorite time was during summer at Camp Redwood with the family and watching golf or baseball on television.

Elma worked at Westside Ford-Lincoln-Mercury for about 30 years until she recently retired.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert T. Wood.

She is survived by sister Shirley Wayne of Laguna Hills; daughters Carol A. Wetter of Chowchilla and Cathleen Anthony of Fairfield; son Scott F. Sniffin of Yuma, Ariz.; stepsons Matthew Wood of Fresno, Gregg Wood of Dos Palos and Lenny McKinnon; and nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held at her home in Yosemite Lakes Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 14 at 31347 North Dome Drive in Coarsegold.

The Nautilus Society handled the cremation.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to "Camp Redwood Association," c/o 550 N. Rector, Fresno, CA 93727.
