The first thing we need to do is correct the name. The 1850-60 Searcy census finds King and Nancy HATCHELL, not Hatcher. Don't want you following another dead end :-)

You haven't given us the name of your gggfather but if he was a Whitmire, I'm not finding any Whitmire living next or even near King and Nancy.

If you'll give me your gggfather's name and circa birth year, I'll see if I can find him and we can go from there...
