Thanks fro your input and interest. I wrote without looking at my paperwork,so first a correction. My Simeon Hatcher was married to Sarah Chavers who i was told by my gmother was daughter of Lucretia Chavers. yes, there are stories of Lucretia being INdian. only recently have i heard that Simeon probably was too. I'm not sure what kind of church- i heard he was a circuit rider- made me think Methodist. i heard there was a Hatcher reunion near Cheraw,SC of this family, but do not know how to get in touch with them.
