Chaffins related to Hatfields

I have been told that we are related to the Hatfields through the Chaffins.My relative is Thadus Chaffins.I can not find anything for Thadus besides who he was married to and their children.
I am trying to trace this line back to the Hatfields.Any help would be appreciated.
Looking for information on Thadus Chaffins born in 1870, married to Elizabeth Winters. Thadus is in the census for Greenup Co KY in 1900-1920. It lists their children as well. I was told that Thadus was born in West Virginia but not sure. I can not find out any information on his parents or other family members besides his wife and children.
