I wonder if you mean CSA Captain William Anderson Hatfirld of the Hatfields and McCoys and otherwise known as "CAP".
My Myers family from Pittsburgh was said to be related to this crew.It would be through his Master Sgt Alfred Beckley Jr who was raise by his grandmother Anne Fulton Craig.Her daughter was Amelia Neville Craig who married General Alfred Beckley.
This family is related to songwriter Stephen Foster who's sister married the brother of President James Buchanan.
I have a lot more on this family if we are talking about the same person.
It was always said the Hatfields were well connected in politics and I believe they were.
That is if Marshal Frank Phillips really did ride with Jessie James and really did kill Skunkhead Wallace Vance.
