Re: Hawley and Maudlin descendants

I saw your posting which included a Jesse Hawley and an Elizabeth L Brown.I was searching Ontario county records and saw that there is a newspaper article for their marriage in 1837.My GGG grandmother was an Elizabeth Brown who was born in 1813 in Palmyra, Wayne, NY.I have no other info on her Brown family.She had a daughter (I believe out of wedlock) that was born in July of 1837.Do you have any additional info on Jesse and Elizabeth?My Elizabeth was living with George Denmark in MIchigan by 1840 and she may have concocted a wild story to hide the paternity of her daughter Lucy (my GG grandmother).Her obit does mention an earlier marriage and early death of spouse.I am trying to discover if her story was all made up or if some of it is true.
