Frank, I am related to Jane's Husband, Josiah Peyton Harrison.I was trying to trace their descendants.
I have found Jane's death certificate in Hennepin Co., MN.I have names and approximate birthdates for several of their children, plus found an obituary notice for another one who died as an infant.
I have Jane's father listed as Robert E. Haycock and her mother, Prudence Nason, which were the names of her parents listed on her death certificate. As you know, there are often errors made by descendants on death certificates, so your names could be the more accurate.I did not have the names of Jane's grand or great grandparents.
Where have you found your information? How are you related to the Haycocks?
Jane's husband, Josiah Peyton Harrison, born 9 Feb 1829 in Russellville, Logan Co., KY, was the oldest child and son of my ancestor, Dr. Robert Peyton Harrison, by his first wife, Almira Clementina Wilcox.Almira died after having five children, and Robert went on to marry two more times and have at least 14 children (that's how many I have found to date!).Robert Peyton Harrison was born in Virginia, and is a descendant of the James River
Robert's family moved from Cumberland Co., Virginia, to Kentucky when he was a toddler. He grew up there, and became a physician plus a Methodist minister. He moved a great deal, KY>IL>MO>KY>TX.
My family is descended from Josiah's full sister, Mary Elizabeth Harrison. All the children of Robert Peyton Harrison ended up in Texas, except for Josiah, the eldest. He went to Minnesota in the 1850's, briefly returned to Texas to live near his father and siblings, as he is there in the 1860 census with his wife, Jane, and two of their daughters, both born in MN.He moved his family back to Minnesota in the 1860's, and they remained their till their deaths in the early 1900's.
I have birth and death dates for Josiah and Jane, and for some of their children. Please let me know what you have, where it's from, and what you don't have.
