Giles county, TN. Haygood/Hagood

When trying to search for George Hagood's parents I saw that in so many past posts there was confusion as to who was who. So I wanted to see if someone has figured this out yet.

I am starting from William J. Hagood (my grandmother's father) who was born in abt. 1880 in Tennessee and died in abt. 1955 who married Mary E. Warren (b. 1881, Tennessee). It seems his father was William A. V. Hagood (b. 1858, Tennessee) who married Serana (or Sevina) Cathona (or Catharina/Cathorny) Marbut (b. 02-09-1861, Tennessee). His father may have been James J. Hagood (b. 1829, Alabama) who married a Sarah C. (b. 1838, Tennessee). And then we get to George J. M. Hagood (b. 1798) who married Nancy/Nancey (b. 1801, Georgia).

Is this correct? I don't know what the initials are.
