SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services for Barbara Haygood O'Byrne will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Ronnie Mills, Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care and Administration, and Rev. Tome Carlton, Pastor of Grawood Baptist Church, Keithville, LA, where Mrs. O'Byrne was an active member. Visitation with the family will be held Monday, October 19, 2009, from 5-7 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside.

Mrs. O'Byrne entered into rest on October 17, 2009 at her home in Keithville, after a lengthy illness. She was born September 19, 1947 in Shreveport where she was a long time resident. She retired from Summerfield Estates Retirement Center where she served as a Dietary Manager. She previously served in restaurant management at both the General Motors and Western Electric plants.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bartholemew (Bob) O'Byrne; one daughter, her parents and her brother.

She is survived by her daughters, Sondra R. King and husband John and Tracy R. Lopez and husband Cain; "Cissy" to precious grandchildren, Chase King, Caden Lopez, Mason Lopez and Callie Anna King.

Pallbearers will be John King, Cain Lopez, Bob Durante, Carney Chamberlain, Matt Rinaudo and David Romine. Honorary pallbearers will be R.L. (Sonny) Anderson, Jack Abney, Charles Odom and Harold Chamberlain.

The family would like to show special appreciation to dear friend, Nelda Durante who has been at her side for this entire journey. In addition, her Sunday School Class and staff of Grawood Baptist Church, and the great support of Willis Knighton Hospice and Cancer Treatment Center. Rose-Neath Funeral Homes
