This might help some as well - I have just started looking into my connections with the Hayhoe's...
My great-great grandfather is John william Hayhoe date of birth as yet uncertain, but guessed about 1870's / 1880's. His son William John Hayhoe was from Great Yarmouth, Norfolk (the Hayhoe's are meant to originate in East Anglia), and he had a son - John William Hayhoe (see the pattern yet ? It seems that the tradition was to name the first son after the grandfather). This was my Grandfather - now his father (William John) married and Olive de Cabrole (b.1900 d.1992), Olive's father was a diplomat in the Portugese Foriegn Service before retiring to India where he was famouse as a Cotton Trader (apparently he was known as 'The Cotton King').William John and Olive had five children, Jean, John, Lorna Rosemary and Willamena.
John married June Brewin and they had two children, Dawn Hayhoe (my mother) and her sister Jacky.
If you are able to trace the family back further please keep me in the loop.
Best regards...
