I read your family page and discovered this is the way to reply. I am descended from Elizabeth Hayhoe who married Richard Murfet. As with you, Samuel Hayhoe is my deadend but I have got back further on his wife Mary Roper 1756 -1834.

Mary was the daughter of Edward Roper (1719 Fordham - 1768 Snailwell) and Mary Levet (1727 Fordham - 1793 Snailwell.Mary Levet is the daughter of James Levet died 1738 and Alice. Edward is the son of James Roper and Ann Stubbin (1683 Soham - 1733) Ann is the daughter of Edward Stubbin 1649-1761 Soham and Ann Spillman 1655 - 1709 Soham.

I have not found the Roper Stubbin marriage but found them described in Edward Stubbin's will. Margaret Tebbit, the wife of Langman Murfet and mother of Richard Murfet is also a descendant of Edward Stubbin.

Also I notice from your notice that Ruth has been in touch with you. I was in contact with Ruth 20 years ago and would like to remake contact so that we can share information.

I have started a reconstruction of Soham using the 1851 census as my starting point. I am presently matching the marriages and 1841 census to those listed on the 1851 Soham census. It is my big project for my retirement in 2006.
