Re: Joseph Haynes of Virginia
I have Joseph Haines m Rosie Burgin in Wilkes County, NC Dec 1783 bondsman William Spicer. Since Jemima Haines/Hains/Hinds/Hanes married William Spicer, I speculate this Joseph is the sibling of Jemima.
I would love to know about the will of Joseph Haines Sr's will.
I suspect that this Joseph Hains"Jr" m to Rosie Burgin was the father of John Hanes who marries Sarah Roberts in Wilkes County. Thomas Roberts was the bondsman. John Hanes was born abt 1790. Thomas Roberts marries Jane Hains, who is likelySarah Jane Cannady Hains, possibly a widow of another Hains sibling?
Years ago someone told me that Mary Nall or Knall was the widow ofa Knall from Virginia and that she came with children. New husbandJoseph Hains was in court over the custody of these children fighting with another man who wanted to claim custody. At the time, they seemed to have no connection to me and I can't replicate the information.
William Nall was a captain and William Spicer was under his command in his original battle in the Revolution. Thanks for any information.
