HAZZARD was the first man, permanently residing in this town, who kept an office and practiced at the county bar.He was born in Oxford, Chenango Co., New York, October 25, 1814.In 1836, he came from Jamestown, New York, to this place, then Williamsport, and for a short time taught a classical school here.He was for a long time, and up to the date of his death, a member of the Presbyterian Church, and for many years a very efficient teacher of a large Bible class in its Sunday school here...(pg. 236) He married in early life HARRIET, daughter of JOSEPH HAMILTON, raised a large family, all sons, and died September 3, 1877.
