Lost Heids, late 19th century
Many years ago my grandmother told me of her 3 brothers who had run away from home to escape their abusive father and were never seen again.I would very much like to learn what became of them.
The family name is Heid, and the three lost brothers were Christian (b. ca. 1850 in Wapakoneta OH), Theodor (b. ca. 1853 in Greenville OH), and Paul (b. ca 1857 in Pomeroy OH).When they each successively fled home as teenagers the family was living in Peoria IL.I have learned that Paul (AKA Edw. P.)lived briefly in St. Louis before continuing on to Denver where he became a druggist, that Christian worked as a bookkeeper on railroad construction in Colorado and the Southwest, and that Theodor was reported in San Francisco around the turn of the century.I have been unable to find any record of their deaths or to learn whether any of them ever married.
I will be very grateful for any information concerning these lost great-uncles of mine.
