Kaspar Heid, my great grandfather,was born in Bavaria about 1924 and died in Illinois in 1899.His tombstone is in the Massbach Cemetery in Derinda Township.His wife was Barbara Nies, b. 1826, d. 1900 (or 1906)
He is listed in the 1889 Census as Caspar Heit with 4 children, Caspar (My grandfather), Doretha, Rachael and Amelia.
I have also found a Christening (11 June 1824) for a Casparus Antonius Heit with father and mother listed as Joannes Henricus Heit and Clara Anna Richter then a Christening for a Joannes Heid on 17 November 1790 with parents listed as Georgio Philippo Heid and Maria Eva Schard.While these dates seem reasonable, I haven't confirmed anything earlier than Kaspar.
