ancestors from Alsace

By rejane marchal February 05, 2004 at 10:39:40

Hi,
I am doing researches on my mother's side. Here are the surnames : Heid, Büchel, Bohnert, Bonert, Keller, Laugel. They all originate from a village in Alsace called WANGEN.
As you may know, Alsace is a german-speaking area because it was German for many years, many times in history.
Does anybody know well the origin of his or her family?
I think many of this village left in the 1800s. Theysettled in Ohio or Illinois like many Germans.
Thanks for contacting me or answering on this forum.
Regards.
