Heid Family of Scioto Co., Ohio & Iowa

I'm looking for information about the Charles & Catharine Harter Heid family who lived in NJ, PA, & Scioto County Ohio before 1860.Catharine arrived in America around 1847, but I can't find Charles.In all of the census records, they indicate they came from Baden.That doesn't help much in tracing them back to Germany.One of Charles & Catharine's sons, Henry, went west, married Linna or Lena Lober in Iroquois Co. Ill. June 2, 1890.The couple migrated to Calhoun Co., IA.One of their children, Laura, married Carl Wiegert.They are my husband's grandparents.

Does anyone have any information about this family that might help me learn where they came from in Germany?
