ALBERT VERNON HEINE, JR.
AL passed away peacefully on January 13, 2008 in Auburn, Washington. He was born May 1, 1927 in Carson, North Dakota to ALBERT, SR. and MOLLY (KLEIN), both now deceased. He was also preceded in death by his brother, DONALD, sister-in-law, TIMMIE, and brother-in-law, JACK. AL's family moved west state by state, eventually settling in Auburn, Washington. He served briefly in the U. S. Army at the end of WWII. Soon after his discharge, he took an accounting position with the Water Department at the City of Seattle, where he would serve for over 40 years. He married his wife, JEANNE (CRAWFORD), in 1949, and they remained happily married until his passing more than 58 years later. He remained an Auburn resident until his retirement in 1989, when he moved to Edgewood. AL was a devoted Christian and a deacon at his church, White River Presbyterian, for several years. He loved bowling and, along with his brothers, formed a bowling team for Gaffney Egg Suppliers. He always enjoyed working in the yard and visitors to his home were impressed by the beauty of his gardens. He also enjoyed travelig with JEANNE, especially to Germany and Hawaii. AL was a caring, gentle man who will be missed dearly by his family and friends. AL is survived by his wife, JEANNE, brothers, ELWOOD (CECILIA) and KENNETH (MABLE), sisters, DOROTHY (BOB) MOORE and DELORES DALY, stepson, RAYMOND DEXHEIMER, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing will be at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup (WA), Thursday, Jan. 17th from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Sumner Cemetery in Sumner (WA) at 11:00 a.m. on Jan. 18th, 2008.
