There is a Helferich family group in the Heidelberg area of Baden. I've run across them several times while working with the church registers for Heiligkreuzsteinach in the northeastern portion of Rein-Neckar-Kreis.

The parish I'm working with is Catholic, though I'm certain there were Lutheran Helferich's in the same area during the same 18th century timeframe.

Many of the Baden parish registers have already been extracted for the IGI records posted at Familysearch.com.The H'Steinach registers prior to 1820 or so have not.
