I was excited to read about the first Carl Hallstrom, because he might match "my" Karl Hällström from Finland and/or the Carl F Hallstrom in Ellis Island records (see earlier post). I'm still not sure if they are the same person; some people have pointed out that at the time (1892) Finland was a part of Russia and therefore, if "Carl" is my Karl, his nationality should read Russian instead of Swedish -an his passport would also have been Russian, no matter what language he spoke.
