Mary Ann (Glascock) Hendren Obituary:
HENDREN - Mary Ann Glascock, daughter of Thomas Glascock, was born July 3rd, 1794 in Fauquir county, Virginia. She was married to Robert Hendren, October 30th, 1828, and the same year united with the Baptist Church, of which her husband was a minister, which relation she continued until her death. She moved to Missouri some thirty or more years ago and settled in Marion county, near the city of Hannibal. After the death of her husband she became a member of the family of her son-in-law, Alvin W. Boyce, of Ralls county, Mo., where she remained until called May 20, 1866, to exchange worlds, at the advanced age of seventy-one years, eleven months and thirteen days. It has been my privilege --and I esteemed it a high privilege-- to know this excellent lady for years, from my early boyhood days. In those years I have been much in her society; have seen her at home, and mingling among friends; bowing at her own domestic altar, and waiting upon God in His sanctuary; and such was her spirit and manner in all these relations, I was prepared to hear her say in death, "I am ready to depart and be with God;" "I am making a happy exchange." She lived for Christ, and realized in the hour of departure from this life that to die was gain. Truly a mother in Israel has fallen. L. Rush.
