thank you sooooo much for providing that info on the Anthony family! According to my grandmother, who married Anne Hennelly's son, many of Anne's family members lived in the house that Anne shares with her husband, George Paul Makibbin on 1923 St. Paul's Street in Baltimore, MD.
my grandmother recognised 2 of the names you've mentioned. she remembered that Margaret Elizabeth Anthony's nephew Milton Robinson, was a drunk. every time when he got into those drunken binges, Anne would take her children and other family members who live in that house, to visit Milton's sister, Ada Lee's farm in St. Mary's County, MD.
I've found on the 1920 census record of Govanstown, MD., living on Belgium Ave. with (George) Paul Makibbin, head,28, and wife Anna, 31/21 (couldn't understand that handwriting) are her family members:
James Hennelly, father-in-law, 63 married,
Margaret Hennelly, mother in law, 55 married,
Anna Anthony, lodger, 57, single,
John Combs, lodger, 28/38, single,
Linwood Hammett, lodger, 21, single.
of course, there's the Hammett family next door:
Raymond Hammett, head 28, married, car inspector- railroad,
Georgia, wife, 25, married
James, son, 7, single
Margaret, daughter, 5 single
Joseph, son, 6 6/12, single
Mary, daughter, 1 6/12, single
in the 1930 census record Georgia (Hennelly) Hammett was listed as member of Anne's household, but no other Hammett was listed, other than Georgia's children. i have no confirmation as to which Hammett married Georgia- Linwood, or Raymond, but i am guessing that its' Raymond. do you know of anything about the Hammett family?
also, in the 1920 census i've mentioned- Anna Anthony was listed as lodger, was she any relation to Margaret, Anna's mother? if so, then how?
also, my grandmother remembered that Margaret Anthony's ethnic background as being italian, or that her ancestors were from there. do you know which ancestor came from italy?
any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated, and let me know what info you need. i think i mentioned the info on Anne Hennelly's children, if not, let me know.
