All I know is what my grandmom told me. She said that shortly before James Julian Makibbin (Anne Hennelly's son by husband George Paul Makibbin, and was my grandfather) died, grandmom found out in passing that Anne Hennelly was of Italian descent. i suppose it was mentioned when the topic of italian food came up or something..she knows that for sure, Anne Hennelly's of italian descent. but anyways, that was all she knew, other than these facts:
1- that when she was dating my grandfather, (James Julian Makibbin) in 1944, she met his parents: Anne (Hennelly) Makibbin, George Paul Makibbin, his sister, Georgeanne Paulina Makibbin, cousins: Mary Virginia Hammett, Margaret E. Hammett, James F. Hammett, and Joseph F. Hammett. the Hammett children's mother were Georgia (Georgeanna Hennelly)'s, but they were raised by their aunt, Anne (Hennelly) as her own, since Georgia was always sick. So when grandmom met James Julian Makibbin's family, they lived on 1923 St. Paul's Street, it was a big house, and its occupants were mostly from Anne's side of the family, along with the one she shares with husband George Paul Makibbin: son James Julian Makibbin, and daughter Georgeanna Pauline Makibbin, as well as her niece and nephews (thru sister Georgeanna Hennelly) that i've mentioned. George Paul Makibbin was the only non-Hennelly/Anthony, there and there is no trace of his family found so far.
2- most of the Hennellys worked for the steam Railroad, presumably B&O RR (Baltimore & Ohio Railroad) one of them, was known for inventing a patent for some pipefitting on the steam engine. it was thru his relatives work on the railroad that my grandfather, James Makibbin found his passion in working for the B&O RR in Baltimore City, MD.
3- Anne Hennelly always took the family, (and my grandfather and grandmother took their 2 children: my mom and uncle) to Ada Lee Hennelly's farm in or around Leonardtown, St. Mary's County, MD. don't know what was Ada Lee's husband's name, but her sone's name was Edward. (from what i understand, there were no toilets, my grandmother andmother were afraid to use the outhouses there) it was a standard farm, with the there's the usual: chickens, cows pigs. it seems that there's many other family members that live there in St. Mary's County, MD. but couldn't remember all their names.
4- James F. Hammett adopted a son, named Jerry Hammett, born about 1947-48. dont know what was James' wife's name or where they lived.
5- Georgeanna PAuline Makibbin married 3 times-
Robert Dunn (son- Robert, daughter- Anna Margaret)
? Dixson (children: son- Paul, daughter- ?)he was a seaman
Frank Johnson- he was a farmer.
Georgeanna was born 1920/21, and died 1981. she lived
in Deal, MD.
that is all i have so far. although it helps her to remember more if and when i give her some more clues.
E.M. Bryant- she remembered Ada L., and Milton, those were the clues that you gave, but like i said, this was many names, and long time ago, and all the memories she'd have are stored in her head. if you have anything to help her memory pick up, it would be greatly appreciated. as for Anne Hennelly's italian descent, could it be possible that the link we're looking for could be Mark Anthony, from Genoa, Italy, like mentioned here in this forum??from what i figure, Mark Anthony or his brother Lewis Anthony, Jr., could be the missing link. we just need to find out who was Thomas Anthony (1813-1859)'s parents. since there were so many of Anne Hennelly's family from St. Mary's County, MD., and the fact that it's not far, just across the Potomac River from Leonardtown, St. Mary's Co., MD to Westmoreland County, VA. they're practically neighbors!! what mor do we need??we just need to find who's our italian missing link!!
