Mrs. Wm. D. Henry obit 1856 York Dist. SC > Miss.
Yorkville Enquirer, dated July, 1856
Died, in Canton, Madison County, Mississippi, on the morning of the 5th inst., MRS. MARGARET HENRY, relict of the late WM. D. HENRY, formerly of York Dist., and mother of Hon. E.G. HENRY.The deceased had reached her 75th year, and had for some time previous to her death suffered the accumulating afficitions of advanced age. She was eminently distinguished for those virtues, which render the female character attractive, and finally closed her earthly career amid tears and regrets of all who were capable of appreciating unbrusive excellence. It is not the empty and formal language of eulogy, to say of her, that she was a pious and faithful member of the church, to which she belonged- that kindness ever dweit in her heart and upon her tongue, and was the law of her conduct- that she was an exemplary member of society, and worthy of the highest commendation in the various relations of life. Those who knew her best, and had most opportunities of observing the gentleness of her nature, must feel that this brief tribute is no flattering or overwrought portrait of the deceased.
