by William L. Jenks
Pub. Date: November 1997
Ella also had a sister Hattie Brown, born March 19, 1866, who married a Frank Henry, a farmer in Columbus (Michigan) Township. I am guessing that Frank was a brother to Josiah-Doris.
Ella A. was born Sept. 11, 1863 (according to the book). She was the daughter of Alden Brown and Charlotte (Ritchie). She married Josiah Henry and they now make their residence at New Haven. Her husband is a farmer and their family consists of 7 children.
Alden Brown married Jan 1 1862 to Charlotte Ritchie.Charlotte was born July 11, 1843, DeKalb, St Lawerence, NY.
Her parents were Thomas (fought in Civil WAR) and Mary (Hudson) Ritchie.
Thomas was a native of Scotland and Mary was a native of England, both coming with their parents to America.
Alden Brown was born St. Lawrence Co. NY, Sackett Harbor, June 26, 1843. He was the son of Simeon and Lucindy (Burlington) Brown of NY. Simeon was a shoemaker.

Frank and Josiah were sons of John N. Henry and Cornelia.
Frank is stillin his parents' home in 1880 in St. Clair Michigan, but Josiah was out on his own, I think still single, and I haven't found him yet, perhaps working with a bunch of people.

(John N. Henry and his family was in the same household as those above them, just a different family unit. I am guessing that his first wife was a Lockwood. That would be your direct line.)
Living nearby in 1860 was Cornelia Maltty? Maltby? 21 still in her family home. She was probably later the second wife.

In 1850, there are a lot of Henrys in Steuben Co., NY. It is going to take some serious research to find which family is his.
