Viviana Hernandez b.1870 (?) Penuelas, P.R., maybe was from Adjuntas
Juana Ramonita (b.1894), Viviana Hernandez' oldest daughter, is my mother’s mother’s mother and in 1910 they lived in the BARREAL section of Peñuelas, Puerto Rico.
Juana Ramonita’s daughter, Margaret "Margarita" Santiago y Hernandez (b. 1914) was my maternal grandmother who married Basiliso "Silo" Quinonez y Galarza (b.1912 in Barrio Duey, Yauco).Grandma used to tell me about the family being from Adjuntas. So, Juana Ramonita was probably not born in Peñuelas, but rather moved there from the Adjuntas area.
On the 1920 census, Juana Ramonita is listed as “Mu” (Mulatto), though in an earlier 1910 census she was listed as “B” (White), which is incorrect as old photographs I have show her to have high cheekbones and dark skin, like a dark copper. The hair appears straight in a 1972 picture I have with her in Puerto Rico.My aunt (who is living) stated that Viviana was a dark skinned woman with coarse hair.
Viviana's age is also a big question mark as the census of 1910 puts her at 40.According to family, she lived to be over 100 years old... possibly 112.Her date of departure was around 1950.Something is off with the census records, as people in my family who knew her stated so.
When I can connect my scanner, I will post some pics here.
If anyone can connect to this tree, would like to know ya!:-)
