Hello,
I hope we are related but do not currently see the connection. I have found out a little more about my family as pass that on to you know.
My grandmother was
Edla Kristina Johnasdotter
Edla's mother - my great grandmother was
Johanna Hero born July 30, 1865 in Hjulsjohojden, Hallefors Parish, Orebro Lan, Sweden
she died Oct. 15, 1910 in Bjornhojden, Hallefors Parish, Orebro Lan, Sweden
Johanna's father - my great great grandfather was
Hinric Hero born Nov. 4, 1834Hjulsjohojden, Hallefors Parish, Orebro lan, Sweden He died March 25, 1920 Sandsjofallet, Hallefors Parish, Orebro lan,Sweden. He married in Dec. 26, 1856, Carolina Pettersdotter
(maybSandsjofallet, Hallefors Parish, Orebro lan, Swedene this Carolina is our connection because she became Carolina Hero upon marriage) Carolina was born
June 29, 1831, Lilla Sirsjon, Hallefors Parish, Orebro lan, Sweden and died June 16, 1904, Hjulsjohojden, Hallefors Parish, Orebro lan, Sweden. They had the following children
Carl Alfred Hero 1857
Erik Johan hero 1860
Augusta Hero 1863
Johanna Hero 1865
August Hero 1868
Lovisa Hero 1870
Gustav Hero 1874
Sofia Hero 1876
I go back 8 more generations -- something I recently found. The name goes from Hero to Herou to Anderson to Hindrichsson to Jacobsson to Henrot in 1595. I had been told by my grandmother that the name was french, but everything I have found is in Sweden.
If you think you are related please let me know. I would be very interested. My grandmothers parents died leaving all the children orphans. They had TB and were coal miners in Sweden. My grandmother came to America at age 14, steerage class on a ship. My daughter and I went to Sweden to try to find out roots a few years ago. I live in Iowa
Jan
