Hope you and family will come and join us at the 2008 Heron Reunion. Some of the events will be held at the Mandeville Hotel, Mandeville, Manchester, Jamaica (please see posting by Gladstone 'Tony' Fisher under GENFORUM: JAMAICA for information on the Heron Reunion). Please call Tel McIntyre at Mandeville Hotel for hotel reservations. There will be tours & site visits of old Heron homes and some belonging to Heron descendants, a dinner dance, church services, workshops etc. For discounted airline reservations, please call Jean Anderson, at Global Travel Service, Mandeville, Jamaica.[Jean is a Heron descendant and Tel is the widow of one].

You may wish to share some of the old photographs. Please bring only copies of these photos to Jamaica.

Various family members came to the 2005 Reunion which I coordinated. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They met alot of distant and close family members from Jamaica, UK, Canada, USA, the Eastern Caribbean and even as far as Australia. This reunion should be much larger and more enjoyable since we would have learnt from our errors in planning the last one.

Heron and Wilson descendants: Lester Holt of NBC-TV today show visiited Jamaica in honour of his mother, Mrs. June Holt. Please look on Lester's blog on MSN-NBC News for details of Lester and June's Visit to Jamaica, and you will also be able to see some of the photos from their visit. It was fantastic for him to see the ruins of his great-grandparents' home and to see the tombstomes of his ancestors (both Heron and Wilson).
