Catholic Hearon/Heron from Hexham to Morpeth 1600 -1740
Still searching Ralph Hearon / Heron who married in Morpeth 10 April 1699. Mrs. Heron name unknown. Children:
James 1700
John 1702
Joseph 1705
Edward 1707
Isabel 1711
Ralph 1713
According to a J.C. Hodgson, who copied all of the records I seek (possibly deposited in the Central Reference Library at Newcastle in approx. 1930? ) Ralph was a shoemaker or 'cordwaiver' who most likely originated in Hexham and moved to Morpeth a few years prior to his marriage in 1699. A Reverend John Paul Hill picked up the search in the 1940's or so, and armed with armed with family letters that hinted a connection to ancestors of Chipchase, tried to establish the names of both Ralph's wife and those of Ralph's parents. It is also possible that Ralph's origins were that of the Hexamshire area. Rev. Hill had collected a letter from the "Society of Genealogists in London" that indicated Ralph's ancestry but, sadly, Rev. Hill died before he had made copy to these records. If anyone has any information on my Ralph Hearon / Heron or knows where any of the collections of J.C. Hodgson or Rev. Hill's letters from the Society of Genealogists in London"might be housed, please let me know.If I can establish Ralph's parentage, I will finally be able to move ahead with my missing link! Thank you all.
