Re: Spelling, of surname Hearn, Hearne,Hern,Heran, Heron, Herron, Herring
Hi Stanley, It's funny, but I was also thinking the same thought, when I saw the "Herndon" surname listed with the Hearn families. I never saw Hearn spelled that way before. Although, I knew Herndon familys, from Owen Co Ky. I grew up in Owenton Ky, and left there to live with my sisters, in Greenwich, Ct. My family have mostly had spelling of Hearn, Hearne, Heran, Hern, Heron, Herron, (some of these were, perhaps, looking at the surname wrong, or just writing (errors) I have even caught myself, hitting the wrong key. And most census records, were written in script, not typing.
