Hi Dennis, I don't know who in your family gave the information to Cathy Hesford in Jacksonville Florida, but she's a third cousin I found doing my research. My mom knew very little about her dads family. Did Cathy fill you in? We have almost always know that George and John were brothers.I guess it just comes from hearing family members talk.George the 2nd, as I call Georges son George, was my granddads dad.That may be a tongue twister. George married Sarah Elizabeth Hill, dau. of Robert Burns Hill of Birmingham, Ohio. RB grew up in Guernsey Co.We don't know where George and Sarah were married. According to Andrew Jackson Hills bio (RB's brother) he left the Guernsey Co. area but didn't say with who.Anyway, Elizabeth and George had three sons.She died just after the third son was born.I don't think my granddad was too fond of his father.Mom says he rarely talked about him.She says my granddad Edgar Burns, was run out of town at about the age of 16.Probably not, he was a story teller of a sort, he made it to Colorado and married and had his family.Two sons Robert burns and David Victor and four daughters. Mary, Elsie(mine), Janeitha and June Elizabeth.David had a son out of wedlock but he gave him his full name so I was able to find him so there are a few Hesfords floating around.He has a son Anthony and a grandson so at least our like is guaranteed for awhile.George the 1st. owned land next to or near someone named Braden.Why would he have named a son John Braden.Could that have been a relation? I'm in California.Where are you?Again, thanks for the work you did on the Hesfords.Do you keep in touch with Charlotte Birdsong?She's a descendent of Abraham T. John and Mary Anns son.Colleen
