I am a senior docent at the Laramie, Wyoming, USA Laramie Plains Museum. I am doing extensive research on Thomas Ivinson. His son, Edward owned the mansion that houses the museum.I am trying to determine Thomas's wife's ancestry.First name Sarah. Last name most likely Hewitson (variously reported as Hewiston or Hewson). But I believe Hewitson is correct (for a variety of reasons).T. Ivinson was baptized in Cumrew, Cumberland, England in 1802 and moved to St Croix Danish West Indies approx 1823.With wife Sarah (Hewitson) had seven children. Oldest, Joshua born 1825 in DWI so marriage likely occurred before that. Marriage location could be Cumberland or (less likely) St Croix DWI. Sarah likely perished at sea on a voyage to or from England.Last noted in the DWI census on 1841. Thomas listed as widower in DWI 1846 census.Of note, T Ivinson was listed as a co-owner of property in St Croix with John Hewitson (b 1798 in England). Any help on confirming Hewitson as actual last name appreciated as well as any additional information.I have much info on her husband and descendants that I would gladly share.
