Thanks for the mail about Higginson. My records have Absolom dying in 1840. What is very interesting is that the Church is St Thomas Mow Cop, which would have been very new at this time. My ggggfather Joseph Clare is buried there in 1856 afterthe mine fell in on him at Trubshaw, but the Clare family lived at Buckram Row and Buckram Yard in the 1841 Census. This was what is now the corner of Biddulph Road and Sands Lane, going up to Tower Hill Colliery. I have had the Higginson line at Audley and then Tunstall, but not the North Harriseahead/Mow Cop area. I shall hve to look into the area more closely.
