Thank you very much for this valuable information. My great grandfather was Richard Nelson Heldreth of the West Virginia bunch, but he had gone to Kansas. My grandmother, Lena Mae Heldreth was born in Iola. I found the family in the census records at Yates Center.Richard Heldreth was in the Calvary and got a medical deferment and did not go on Custer's Last Stand.Believe it or not!
