I think I might have found what you were looking for Scott. This is what I did.First I searched the 1850 Census for a Mary Hildreth born around 1824 in Tennessee, and I found only one married to a John V. Hildreth in Caldwell, Kentucky. The HFA database has this listed as a Mary Fleming.Obviously not Mary Jones. So I searched for Aaron Hildreth and this is what I have found.
The 1840 Census has an Aaron Hildreth between the ages of 60 - 70 years old listed in McLean County, IL.
The 1830 Census has an Aaron Hildreth between the ages of 50 - 60 yeard old listed in Denmark, Lewis County, NY
The 1820 Census has an Aaron Hildreth between the ages of 26 - 45 listed in Watertown, Jefferson County, NY
The only Aaron Hildreth listed in the HFA database that could possibly be this Aaron was born in Townsend, Middlesex, MA in October 30th, 1778.He is the only Aaron Hildreth lineage not traced by the HFA after his birth that falls into the right age range. However why would Mary Jones be married to someone 44 years older than her.Not unheard of, but not likely.
The 1820 - 1840 Census records reveal that Aaron Hildreth had a family travelling with him.The 1840 census lists 6 males and 2 females living in the household. One female is between the ages of 50 - 60, and one male is between the ages of 20 - 30.Perhaps this male is Aaron Hildreth Junior?
The 1850 Census records reveal a Chas Hildreth living in McLean County, IL at age 25 born in NY.
The 1860 Census records show that Charles Hildreth age 33 born in NY married to a Mary A. age 21 with children William A (2)& Charley (6 Months)
Than I lose track of this family.Unless its the same Charles Hildreth as the one living in Zumbrota, Goodhue, MN on the 1870 Census married to a Mary E instead of Mary A with different children.
If the Aaron Hildreth was right Aaron Hildreth I found than here is the lineage for him Aaron, Zachariah, Zachariah, James, Ephraim, Richard Hildreth from Chelmsford, MA
I hope I've helped you with your research, and I will continue further research into this Hildreth line. Hopefully one day reunite these Hildreths with the rest of the ones already traced by the Hildreth Family Association.Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
