My grandmother was Mattie Mae HILDRETH daughter of Homer HILDRETH and his 1st wife.I have quite a bit of information on these two families of Homer's two wives.Coffee County Alabama is a historical bank for the HILDRETH family as the roots go deep - and include the Dowling and Boutwell names as well.In reality it is the Southeast Alabama that has huge HILDRETH roots.

Homer was the son of Robert Henry Jackson HILDRETH and his 1st wife.Robert Henry Jackson HILDRETH was the son of Benjamin HILDRETH.Homer's father and grandfather along with and uncle of Robert Henry Jackson's - his mother's brother were Methodist ministers in south east Alabama and there are churches that have deep roots with the Hildreth name.
