Your post gave me a chance to review my Stacy Roots.As you have seen my 5th Great Grandmother was Catherine Stacy the daughter of John Stacy b. 1688, he the son of Simon Stacy b. 1638 in England.

Here is what I have found in Peter Stacy's.

William & Seth STACY Combs, Sr. of Crabtree Creek of Big Moccasin, North Fork of Holston, s/o Mason & Sarah Combs, Sr., b 1740, Overwharton Parish, Stafford Co, VA, m bef 1767, possibly in Frederick Co, VA, Seth STACY (d/o Simon and Judith TOLSON Stacy (Pettit), Sr., was probable father of John Combs and William Combs, Jr. (See Surry Co, NC) He resided in Montgomery Co, VA in 1781, and appears to have first come to Russell Co ca 1789 (Upper District), probably from Sullivan Co, TN (where he sold land in 1788), with (his brother?) Mason Combs, and (his son?) John Combs; as well as his brothers-in-law, William and Sinai STACY Cody, and John STACY, Sr., and his mother-in-law, Judith TOLSON Stacy Pettit. Abt 1792, William and Mason Combs and Peter STACY (s/o John Sr.) removed to Hawkins Co, TN, where Mason Combs remained. By 1796, William Combs, Sr. (h/o Seth STACY), and Peter STACY, had returned to Russell Co, from Hawkins, and William and Sinai STACY Cody from Sullivan Co, but this time to Crabtree Br. of Big Moccassin Creek of the North Holston, which is in Russell's Lower District.

I also have a Peter Stacy b. 1735 to John Stacy b. 1688 and his second wife Dorothy.Could this Peter, have been your Peter's father?

Yes the families that you mentioned are the ones tied to my family.A few researchers have Simon Hill b. 1716, son of John Stacy b. 1688 and Sarah Preston, as being married to a Catherine Hill who died in birth in 1741.This could be the sister of my William Hill b. abt. 1721(who is my brick wall).
