Aug 1850 in NC, s/o Alfred and Rachel Hilliard of Watauga Co., NC... Silas was a marrying parson.Do not know what Watauga Co., NC might hold for clues, if any, on William of WCV.General migratory pattern was Watauga Co., NC to Johnson Co., TN to Sullivan Co., TN.../// Suggestion:With a Walter P. (Walter Preston?) in this family and the above Montgomery-Hilliard connections, try MONTGOMERY for possible surname for Mary – on the other hand, Wm. Hilliard Montgomery got his middle name from his mother, Hilliard!Or, with Gardner G. and Robert in the family GRANT should also be explored.)
