I am a descendant of the Moate, County Westmeath Ireland Hilliard family.Robert Hilliard (1830-1916) married Marcella Connaughton (alternate Connorton?) (1837-?) on Jan. 7, 1857; nine children - Annie born Dec. 3, 1858; Mary born March 13, 1860; John born August 10, 1861 - died Dec. 24, 1863; Robbie born July 21, 1864. died Dec. 24, 1927; Patrick born Oct. 7, 1867; Denis born April 5, 1869; Elizabeth born Aug. 5, 1871, died Dec. 21, 1872; Joseph Robert Hilliard born June 15, 1873; Catherine born April 15, 1878.
Joseph married Honoria ‘Nora’ Kearneyon Dec. 5, 1895 in St. Patrick’s church Moate, County Westmeath.Joseph Hilliard and Nora came to US May 24, 1895; they had 5 children in Hartford, Connecticut; Katherine, Elizabeth, Helen, Robert, William (my grandfather).Multiple descendants, including myself reside throughout U.S.
