Have you seen James L. Hilton's book, Hiltons of Scott County, Virginia? That book, including as it does a section by my father, Kenneth L. Hilton, contains really all we know of the early Hiltons, and while James speculates on the parentage of OUR Andrew, he seems to conclude that there was just too much confusion in the records to be sure beyond that point. So my lineage is Andrew, John, Samuel, Jonathan, Thomas, John Leonard, Berryman, Kenneth, ME. We're the bunch that left the Clinch Mountains of Virgina for the Ozarks of Missouri (and now beyond). I guess you and I would be cousins of some stripe or another. How does your line play out?
Thanks for writing...isn't the internet the greatest for connecting all sorts of dots in one's life (and lineage)?
Best regards,
Kate Mullinger
