Sharpsburg, Maryland is located in North Central Maryland, just off the Potomac River.The John and Andrew Himes I referenced in previous message, could be parental candidates for your John and Andrew.Your Andrew (born 1778) would have been about 28 when he went down the Potomac in 1806.

Also, I found a John and Andrew Hyms listed as members of the "Sharpsburgh 100" that took an oath of allegiance March 2, 1778.*** see http://members.tripod.com/~LadyValois/cruso.htmhttp://members.tripod.com/~LadyValois/cruso.htm ***

I believe the John and Andrew listed above with different spelling of their last names to be the same people.
