Re: William Hinkley b. NY abt 1794; d. IN about 1840

My line is descended from Francis Bennett HINKLEY.BENNETT is his mother Rachel’s surname.
Francis B. moved to Houston Co., Minnesota about 1865 and was there through 1875. By 1880 he was in Janesville, Rock Co., Wisconsin.

His death registration states that Francis died 19 May 1884 of heart disease at age 45. He was born 27 Nov 1839 in Ohio to William HINCKLEY & Rachel BENNETT.Occupation -laborer; spouse -Adelia Abby "Sherman"(correct spelling is SHERBURN).Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery, Janesville.

Another child of William and Rachel not listed in your post is Comfort C. HINKLEY who died in 1844 and is buried in Mitchell Cemetery, Warren, Huntington Co., Indiana where William is also buried.(source: Find-a-Grave)
