If I was starting to trace my famiy with the minimum data you have given I would,with the documents I have, aim at the Alexander, son of John and Martha Hindman.
And today with the vast collection od data over 30 years I see no otherplace for you to aim.
The problem I have is that a conclusion you make using your family documents doesnt match my conclusion usung my family documents .
So lets see if we can put it together,
Do you have a copy of the will of John Hindnan?
Was your Alexander in the civil war?
Have you found your alexander in any census record?
Do you know if he lived in any other dtat than S,C. say Al,.Ga,. or possibly Tn.?
Where was John Hillery born?
With answers to these wuesrions I may be able to hely o guide you in your search,
