Re: JOSEPH HINDS Sr b abt 1700 & JOSEPH HINDS Jr
Recently, I began to look more closely at Josephs Hinds of earlyNC census and consequently found this posting. I notice that your Hinds line does sometimes get written as Hains. Simeon,Joseph,Jno Hains (Jonathan?) and William are are some of the Wilkes county Hains/Hanes/Haynes I have long encountered. I do not know how they might be related to one another or to your Hinds or my John Hanes b abt 1791 d bef 1840, but consider some of them may eventually tie.
My John Hanes lived and died in Wilkes County, NC. Because I noticed your Hinds had a marriage to a Roberts(common name though) I will mention that my John Hanes married Sarah Roberts in 1822. Sarah's brother Thomas m Jane Hains in Wilkes in 1821 and it has been theorized Jane and John Hains were siblings, (I now have reason to believe she may be a widow to his unknown brother)
Also, in starting research on Hinds in Wilkes, NC I also came across Jemima Hinds/Haines who reportedly married William Spicer in 1781. She is said by the few online researchers who name her ancestry to have been b 1752 in England to Samuel Hinds. No proof was included.
Rowan County which you also mention was divided and part of it became Wilkes County.
I would love to know if any of these names fit in any way to your lines or to hear back if your line is complete as this would make it a less likely line of research for me to pursue.
