In the Federal Census 1880 for Georgia there is a Clay Hinsley, aged 10, enumerated with W.M. Hinsley (18.89.56.15) in Oconee Co, Watkinsville. Also in the household are W.M. 50 GA, Emma 17 GA (daughter), Mollie 13 GA (daughter) and Clay 10 GA (son). Other Hinsleys in Oconee Co for 1880 are Lindsey D Hinesley in Salem with family and Thomas Hinesly in Scull Shoals with wife (Julia) and children: Albert, Judson, Howard, Weldon, Alma, Allie. Also in Scull Shoals is William Hinesleywith children Wesley, Lila and Moselle. In Federal Census 1900 for Georgia there is a Clay Hinesley (70.98.8.83) in Walton Co. Tanner District. He was born April 1872, aged 28, GA. His wife is Irsey (Sep 1873, 25 GA), and children: Willie (Sep 1892, 7, GA), Clifford (Cot 1894, 4, GA), Sunie (Oct 1897, 2 GA-female). Also in Walton Co is Euler Hinesley )b. Oct 1883 in GA-female, the stepdaughter of John m. Strickland. Mozelle Hinesley (Feb 1879) is listed as a boarder. I didn't find Clay in 1910. I don't find W.M. in Federal Census 1870, but in 1860 there is a Wiley M. Hinesley in Clarke Co., Watkinsville. He was 31 born in Georgia and a harnessmaker by trade. He could not read or write. His wife was Sarah M. (30 GA), children were: Letheania (7), Philobele (5) and John T. (1). All born in Georgia. In Federal Census 1850 Wiley M. Hinsley is listed in Clarke Co, Watkinsville, white, male aged 23, a shoemaker. In Federal Census 1840 there was a head of household in Clarke Co named Irvin Hinesly. His name is sometimes spelled Earven. His wife was Lucinda Robertson and they were married 18 April 1838 in Clarke Co. In Federal Census there is a John Hinesley listed in Clarke Co. In 1833 a John Hinesley married Susan Garner 29 July in Clarke Co. In 1810 a John Hinsley married Mary Huff 25 November in Clarke Co. In 1805 there were three Hinsleys in the land lottery: Thomas in Tatnall Co., Michael and William in Liberty Co. I hope you are able to piece this all together. Also Wiley M. Hinesley in the 9th Georgia Infantry, Co. G. in the Civil War. He also fought in the 27th GA infantry, Co. G.
