Hinesley cemetery in Carroll co., Ga.

By Earline Burks White February 27, 2002 at 12:48:48

Last week I decided to write to a chapter of the SCV (Sons of Confederate veterans) to find out about my gr. grandpa Thomas H. Hinesley who was in the Cavalry. I found out one to write to, but didn't know it was the one that was in the Town where I last lived in Georgia (Villa Rica) When I wrote, they immediately sent me an e-mail letter back informing me that they were going to clean up the old Hinesley cemetery the next day.I thought it was quite a coincidence that I happened to write at that exact time.Mr. Charlie Lott sent me (via e-mail) several photos they took, I especiallyliked the one of my gr. grandpa with the Confederate flag draped over his grave and I believe they put markers on all the graves of the confederate veterans there. They also plan to take my mother to see the cemetery some time soon-She will be 94 years old in June-Her name is Eunice Hinesley Burks (Thanks to all the good members of the SCV in Villa Rica)
