He was an older brother of my Gr-grandfather.There is some confusion about his name, too.I think he actually went by the name Cormillous.In the family Bible that recorded his birth, it was written "Carnillus", but I think it was actually meant to be Cornelius.His mother or father probably wrote the name as it was commonly pronounced -- Carnillus.

A few days before the message below, you also posted something about an obit for Cornelius Hinesley.He is the man who owned the Florida Hotel in DeFuniak Springs.It started out as a boarding house and eventually became a hotel.I have been told by distant relatives that it burned around 1940.

Carnillus or Cormillus (?) or Cornelius (?)was born in Chatham County, NC in 1872.He was the 9th of 12 children.He and his older brother, ULysses S. Grant Hinesley moved to Florida around 1906 where they lived out the remainder of their lives.Ulysses lived in Florala, AL, and Cormillus lived in DeFuniak Springs.
