Re: Hirneisen's in Berks and Lancaster Co, P

I am sorry I cannot help you.I never saw that version of the name.My husband's family has the original spelling I believe.In a German Directory I have seen the spelling Hirneisen and Hirneise.If you give me a first name and maybe a date I can check if there is an individual with that name in the Hirneisen book.I know in my own family a few surnames have gone through a number of different spellings.I would be happy to check.There were a few other Hirneisen's who came to america other than my husband's ancestor.There is a little information on the Katz forum.I believe that is where I found that other Hirneisen's came over at different times.It is not a common name.Maybe one of the other branches changed the spelling.My husband's family is from Hochdorf in the state of Wurttemburg Germany.I haven't found any other places where they may have come from as of yet.
