Name change

Does anyone know approximately when and who changed the Hirneisen name from Hirneisen to Herneisen? I'm just kind of curious. My name is Donnie Herneisen. I'm 21, and I live out in Oregon. I know there aren't many of us Herneisen's or Hirneisen's out here in the west, so I thought I'd try finding some through this forum. Thanx,
