Another clue:Mary Elizabeth Hisey was the niece of Wm Hale "Uncle Hale" winchester who married 1821 Sybil Gates in Clark co Ohio.She was living in Stephenson co Il as early as 1848 with her uncle.She went back to Clark CoOhio to marry Seth Emery who happened to be stationed there as a hospital stewart during he Civil War.
